Cristina Carvalho, Arent Fox’s Managing Partner, is one of the few women of color who have taken the lead at a major U.S. law firm. Born and educated in Brazil and fluent in three languages, Cristina brings a diversity of culture and experience to her role. Named as one of Latin America’s Top 100 lawyers by Latinvex in 2016, Cristina’s has a vast and impressive clientele in both North and South America. Cristina will share her personal story and inspire us all to reach for the stars.

Fluent in Portuguese and admitted to practice law in the US and Brazil, Cristina advises clients so they can navigate different legal systems and cultures to realize opportunities in mature and emerging markets. In her practice, Cristina counsels one of the largest food companies in the world,
manages the intellectual property portfolios of international celebrities and consumer product manufacturers, and serves as a go-to attorney in the US for major Latin American corporations. Earlier this year, Cristina was recognized one of Latin America’s Top 100 lawyers by Latinvex. Cristina has also been named leading female IP practitioner in “IP Stars — Top 250 Women in IP” published by Managing Intellectual Property from 2013 to 2016.
