The Young Lawyers Subcommittee (YL) of the Latina Lawyers Bar Association (LLBA) strives to promote the values of the organization at large and, in addition, to meet the needs and interests of professional women at the onset of their legal careers. To that end, YL develops programming, networking opportunities, and a space for law students and young attorneys to foster friendship, solidarity, and unity. In addition, YL aims to facilitate the integration of new lawyers into the profession and to connect them with the Latina Lawyers Bar Association general body, including the members and Board of Directors, and with other experienced legal professionals.
Throughout the year, YL hosts and promotes events targeted toward the recruitment, retention, and professional growth of women in the legal field. These events include mentoring and resume review opportunities, coalition building and networking events with other affinity organizations, and social events that provide access to community leaders, colleagues, and friends of the organization who provide advice, encouragement, and resources.
Although YL targets participation from law students and attorneys with 0 to 5 years of legal experience or under the age of 35, all attorneys are welcome and encouraged to join YL events. To learn more about upcoming events or about how to get involved with YL or LLBA, please see our events calendar or contact [email protected].
