Prior to her current position, Jamie served as Deputy District Attorney for the County of Los Angeles, representing the People of the State of California in criminal matters. During her tenure, she tried 30 cases to verdict and managed complex criminal prosecutions, including assaults, domestic violence, gang-related violence, and homicide. Earlier in her career, Jamie worked as an immigration attorney, advising clients on immigration proceedings.
Jamie is admitted to practice law in California. She holds a J.D. from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Dickinson College, where she received a Posse full-tuition scholarship.
In addition to her role on the Board of Directors of the Latina Lawyers Bar Association, Jamie serves as Vice President of the Latinx Dickinson Alumni Association and as an attorney mentor with the Legal Education Access Pipeline (LEAP) Foundation.
Jamie regards her profession as a vocation: she is dedicated to serving others and to using the privilege of her education to advance justice and make the world more equitable.
