Yolanda Martin

Yolanda is the managing attorney for CHIRLA’s removal defense unit, where she practices immigration law. Ms. Martin represents both detained and non-detained individuals before the Immigration Court. She also represents children in family and probate court. Prior to joining CHIRLA, Ms. Martin worked in private practice. Yolanda also has a background in family and criminal law.

Ms. Martin received her law degree from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, where she served as a board member for the Immigration Law Society. She attended the University of California San Diego where she earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and a minor in economics. She is a volunteer with the Immigrant Defenders Law Center, Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project and Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law.

Ms. Martin is a proud daughter of Mexican immigrants and the first in her family to attend college and law school. She was born in Los Angeles and raised in the San Fernando Valley.
